Aaron Thomas Bernard was born a native Californian. He was raised in South Orange County, in cities close to the beach which is one of his many favorite places to shoot photography. Aaron is a self taught photographer. He loves shooting the sky and clouds especially before a storm, action shots where he can depict the edge of movement and enjoys creating his own abstract views using a variety of traditional and self built camera lenses.
Although his love for photography goes back many years, he began taking it seriously in 2005. “I am inspired by flow, nature, decay, smoothness, the detail of chaos and freezing hidden moments in the world”.
Aaron has been surrounded by art his whole life. As a child, he was influenced by his Mother’s eye for art and her talent in designing stained glass. Thus, his creativity is not only through the lens but in painting as well. In 1997 he began painting oil on canvas. Through this genre he allows his imagination to create and produce images of his deepest thoughts in another abstract manner. He also personally designs and builds all of his own frames for both his photos and paintings. He uses many materials including wood, welded metal and burlap bringing his pieces to their full radiance.
